Power transmission towers and polymer pipes maker Skipper Ltd. has set up a plant near IDA Bollarum in Medak district that will manufacture plumbing and agriculture pipes.
Addressing a press conference here on Friday, Director Devesh Bansal said that it marks the entry of the company and its PVC pipes into the south Indian market. The new plant, he added, was spread over 2.25 acres with a capacity to produce 6,000 tonnes per annum of both plumbing and agriculture pipes. The investment on the plant was Rs. 10 crore and going forward the company will consider investing more and increasing the capacity. Trial production at the facility began last month and the commercial production was set to start soon, he added.
Skipper has manufacturing facilities for PVC pipes across five locations in the country and the cumulative capacity is 41,000 TPA. The company wants to scale up the capacity to 1 lakh TPA over the next three years.
